Neuhoff Media Springfield’s Sports Radio 92.3 FM/1450 AM (WFMB-AM) and 104.5 WFMB (WFMB-FM) helped to raise over $100,000 in a one-day radiothon Friday, January 29, 2021.

The radiothon was planned after the annual City Tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Each year, the City Tournament brings thousands of people to the BOS Center in Springfield, Illinois, for three nights to enjoy competitive basketball, polished pom routines, lively band and drumline performances, outstanding anthem singing, and amazing choreographed student body cheering sections led by enthusiastic cheerleaders all vying to take home the coveted Gary Sullivan Spirit Award.

The City Tournament has also been home to the All City Food Drive involving every school in the city along with all those that attend the tournament coming together to help feed those in need through donations to St. Martin de Porres.

From 6:00am – 9:00am and again from 3:00pm to 6:00pm Sports Radio 92.3 FM/1450AM and 104.5 WFMB broadcasted live and collected monetary donations at the Knights of Columbus Hall.  Students from each of the high schools were on site collecting donations.  Donators were able to drive up and donate or call in their donation.

By the end of the day, over $100,000 was raised for St. Martin de Porres.

St. Martin De Porres is located at 1725 South Grand Ave East in Springfield, Illinois.  They  give out food and clothing Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 9 am to 11 am.
