Springfield, IL June 10, 2023 – The Springfield YMCA successfully organized its first annual “Y Ninja” event on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The event aimed to raise funds for the YMCA Strong Kids Fund, providing underserved, at-risk children, and those with diverse abilities, an opportunity to experience the YMCA firsthand. Participants and spectators from the local community gathered at the Springfield YMCA for a day filled with thrilling challenges, sponsor support, and family-friendly activities.
The centerpiece of the event was the “Y Ninja” obstacle course, which attracted participants of all ages and fitness levels. Individuals showcased their physical abilities and agility as they navigated the challenging course. Every participant who completed the course received a medal as a recognition of their achievement. To add a competitive element, trophies were awarded to the top performers in each division. This friendly competition encouraged participants to push their limits and fostered a supportive atmosphere of camaraderie.
The “Y Ninja” event received generous support from local businesses, law enforcement, and medical organizations who sponsored various obstacles. Their involvement underscored the importance of community collaboration in creating memorable experiences for all participants.
Families attending the event enjoyed browsing local vendor booths and indulging in delicious food from the food stands. Neuhoff Media’s 99-7 The MIX‘s Bondsy was on-site, broadcasting live, and adding to the excitement of the event.
