Salvation Army Danville Celebrates 135 Years of Service at Anniversary Dinner and Fundraiser

DANVILLE, Ill. — On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Salvation Army Danville marked a historic milestone as it celebrated its Christmas in July 135th Anniversary Dinner and Fundraiser, honoring over a century of unwavering service in Vermilion County. The commemorative event took place at Woodbury Falls in Danville, drawing local residents and supporters from the community.

Neuhoff Media Danville News Director, Steve Brandy, is a member of the Salvation Army Danville Advisory Board. Brandy, known for his dedication to community engagement, also contributed to the event by portraying the iconic figure of Pastor William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army saying,  “I am excited and blessed and privileged to have the honor to serve the community here.”

Attendees were treated to captivating stories shared by individuals who had been touched and uplifted by the organization’s transformative work.
