Springfield, IL – As the Illinois State Fair gets underway in Springfield, the Junior Livestockers were treated to a special welcome event from the Illinois College School of Agribusiness. The event was held on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Wednesday, August 9, the day before the official start of the fair. 104.5 WFMB‘s (WFMB-FM) Josh Roberts was on hand for the event along with Neuhoff Media Ag Director, Steve Bridge, who broadcasted his “Agri-Business Today” show live from the event on Sports Radio 1450AM/92.3 FM.
Professors from the school attended the event with games, giveaways, and prizes and talked with students who received a certificate to enjoy something to eat from the 4H food stand just for stopping by.
Jim Galle, Professor of Agribusiness, told Bridge, “The students who leave IC are very well prepared when they go out into the workforce and can receive a second degree while enrolled. So, they can graduate with an agribusiness degree and one in finance or accounting. All for one price.”
