Springfield, IL – It was a battle for the best mullet Saturday, August 12th at the Illinois State Fair. 104.5 WFMB’s Josh Roberts was a celebrity judge for the competition that brought out some very impressive mullets.
The event was held at the Grand Central Stage, sponsored by Neuhoff Media, and featured 15 contestants vying for the 1st place prize of $500, the 2nd place price of $300, and the 3rd place prize of $200. The winner was also awarded automatic placement in the top 25 spots of the USA Mullet Championships.
This year’s winner was Patrick Sosman of Springfield who had his own cheering section at the event complete with mullet cutouts waving in the crowd! The mullets were judged based on 4 criteria: mullet at first glance, mullet spirit, mullet metricks, and live performance.
