It was a record-breaking year for the annual AM Springfield Radiothon for St. Patrick Catholic School on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.  Sports Radio 1450 AM/92.3 FM (WFMB-AM) in Springfield, Illinois, hosted this beloved community event, which has been a tradition for more than fifteen years, and shattered all previous fundraising records, raising more than $48,000.

The generosity of AM Springfield listeners once again took center stage as they rallied behind St. Patrick Catholic School, reaffirming their unwavering support for the Springfield community.  AM Springfield host Sam Madonia was joined by Tim Schweizer broadcasting live from the school from 6am to 9am.

St. Patrick Catholic School boasts a rich history dating back over a century. Established and funded by St. Patrick Parish in 1910, the school underwent a transformation in 2001 when it was re-established as a not-for-profit corporation. Today, it operates under the jurisdiction of the bishop in partnership with the diocese.

One of the school’s standout qualities is its commitment to serving students from all races, creeds, and religions. With small class sizes and a curriculum spanning from pre-school to grade five, St. Patrick Catholic School has become a beloved institution known for its dedication to providing quality education to Springfield’s young minds.
