This Thanksgiving season has been extra special for local families in Springfield, Illinois. In a display of holiday spirit and generosity, Neuhoff Media Springfield has partnered with local sponsors to distribute hundreds of turkeys and pumpkin pies, ensuring a delicious Thanksgiving for many.
The celebrations began on Friday, November 17th, with a turkey giveaway sponsored by Calhoun’s Outlet. In an event that captured the hearts and appetites of the community, the first one hundred listeners to arrive were gifted a 15-pound turkey each. Though the event was scheduled for 4:00 pm, the excitement was so high that people started lining up in the early afternoon. In less than 20 minutes, all one hundred turkeys were snapped up, a testament to the community’s enthusiasm.
Adding to the excitement, Neuhoff Media Springfield’s stations, including 104.5 WFMB (WFMB-FM), 99-7 The MIX (WXAJ-FM), and Sports Radio 92.3FM/1450AM (WFMB-AM), were broadcasting live at the turkey giveaway.
The stations were also present as the giving continued on Monday, November 20th, with Robertson Lawn Care‘s Annual Pie Day. This event has become a cherished tradition in Springfield, and this year it was bigger than ever. Starting at 7:00 am, a whopping 1,500 pumpkin pies were given away at Robertson Lawn Care’s location.
Thoughout the day, as milestones were reached in the giveaway, pie recipients received special signs and had their pictures taken.
Both Calhoun’s Outlet and Robertson Lawn Care are already looking ahead to next year’s Thanksgiving events.
