The 3rd Annual Channel1450 Awards Show took place last night at the RS Hangar at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, celebrating the achievements of the 2023-2024 school year. The event was a resounding success, with nearly 500 athletes, coaches, family members, and sponsors in attendance.
A total of 25 awards were handed out across 14 different sports, highlighting the exceptional talent and dedication of local athletes. Additionally, two scholar-athletes were awarded $2,000 scholarships, recognizing their outstanding academic and athletic achievements. The event also honored a Coach of the Year and Team of the Year, celebrating their remarkable contributions to their sports.
The prestigious UCB Cup was awarded to two local schools for their athletic departments’ success this school year, in partnership with United Community Bank. The awards were presented by our esteemed sponsors: Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, Green Family Stores, Springfield Clinic, and United Community Bank.
The evening featured live music from Jammer and a live broadcast of Press Box on Sports Radio 1450 by Tim Schweizer and Jim Ruppert. Channel1450.com personalities Derek Parris, Leanna Churchill and Michael Hardwick were instrumental in making the night a memorable one. Special thanks to the sales team for their support and dedication.
