95Q continued its partnership with the Macon County Farm Bureau this October for another successful year of Feed the Farmers.

Feed the Farmers is an initiative through the Macon County Farm Bureau that provides free lunches to those working in the fields during harvest season. Throughout the month of October, 95Q joined the Macon County Farm Bureau at four different grain towers across Macon County to serve free barbecue lunches to working farmers.

Executive Vice President Tim Stock described Feed the Farmers as the Macon County Farm Bureau’s way of showing farmers that their community cares for them.

“Our farmers are feeding the world,” Stock said. “Harvests are a long process with long hours in the field, so we want to give them a break and keep them safe. Hopefully, we can make them feel special and be successful.”

For Tonee Roper, host of the Morning Wakeup with Tonee on 95Q, the Feed the Farmers experience is about giving back to the farmers of Macon County as a community member.

“We were able to provide a break for the farmers and their staff who work so hard during harvest to supports us throughout the year,” Roper said. “While many of our partners have been involved for years, this was my first Feed the Farmers. It was great to say thank you and shake the hands of our guests of honor during each event.”

This service is possible through contributions from Kansas City Barbecue Pit, Refreshment Services Pepsi, Sam’s Club, Beckett’s BBQ, Scott State Bank & Country Finical Agents, Curt Grant, Tim Young & Andy Stukins.
