The 1st Annual Best of BN (BOB) Awards Reception was held on August 24, 2023, at The Deep End Tap in Eastland Suites and Conference Center in Bloomington, IL. This reception honored the winners and runners-up in each category of this year’s contest. A wide variety of local businesses were in attendance, with over 60 businesses from across Bloomington-Normal being represented. Winners received a first-place trophy and certificate, while runner-ups received a certificate. Appetizers, drinks and music were provided throughout the ceremony.
Neuhoff Media Bloomington General Manager Mark Barra attributed the local scope of the Best of BN Awards to the success of both the ceremony and the overall campaign.
“It was a great way for many businesses in Bloomington-Normal to connect with each other, as most attendees stayed for the entire event and well after. We strived to keep the awards limited to local businesses, and we could tell that the business owners appreciated that.”
This year marked the first annual Best of BN (BOB) Awards, with a total of 44 different categories for people to recognize their favorites in McClean County. There were categories within:
