The Salvation Army of Decatur (TSA Decatur) kicked off the holiday season with Decatur Un-Masked on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Decatur Un-Masked was a Christmas concert fundraiser that raised $45,000 for TSA Decatur. Among the lineup of performers were two Neuhoff Decatur on-air talents: 95Q’s Scott Chapman and Y103’s Shyler Kraus.

Inspired by the hit TV show “The Masked Singer”, five community members performed in disguise. Concertgoers then voted on who they thought was the voice behind each costume and voted on their favorite performance. Y103’s Shyler Kraus was voted as the first “Decatur Un-Masked” winner for her performance as “The Christmas Tree”. 95Q’s Scott Chapman also provided a magical performance as “The Pink Unicorn”. Other performers included Jess Milligan, as “The Peacock”, Zach Garrett as “The Easter Bunny” and a surprise performance from Santa Claus.

Kyle Karsten, Director of Development for TSA Decatur, believes the inaugural “Decatur Un-Masked” concert was a great success. “I was so pleased to see such a fun event come together as a way to bring community together, raise funds for the Salvation Army, and start this Christmas Season.” Karsten said.
