This year’s Stuff the Bus collected a record-high 6.2 tons of donated childcare essentials benefitting Brightpoint Crisis Nursery in Bloomington, Illinois. After a week of collecting donations at stops around the Bloomington-Normal area, the beloved donation drive concluded on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Community members graciously donated items such as diapers, clothing, formula and more at these stops, with the goal of filling buses provided by Connect Transit with donated items. All proceeds go toward Brightpoint, formerly Children’s Home & Aid, who will distribute these items to families in need through their Crisis Nursery.
The 21st Annual Stuff the Bus ran from November 27 through December 3, 2023. On Monday, December 4, Connect Transit confirmed the total raised, and volunteers unloaded the donated items at Brightpoint Crisis Nursery.
