The Hidden Ornament contest is a K-105 (WKOA-FM) holiday tradition that returned for another exciting scavenger hunt this year. The premise of Hidden Ornament is simple yet thrilling: an ornament is discreetly placed somewhere in the Greater Lafayette Area, and eager participants follow daily clues provided on K-105’s website to unveil its hidden location. Whoever discovers the ornament first wins a prize, this year’s prize being a Nintendo Switch.
Clues were shared from November 27 through December 4, 2023, before Selena Licona and her husband found this year’s ornament hiding in a bush at Cumberland Park in West Lafayette, Indiana. Sharing her experience, Licona said, “Basically, we had given up. And, we were walking back to the car, and it just so happened that we were parked right next to that bush, and that was the last thing that we looked at.”
K-105’s Hidden Ornament contest began in 2009, and residents have looked forward to the annual hiding of the ornament after Thanksgiving every year since. This year’s Hidden Ornament contest was made possible by Wampler Services Inc.
